Visions for ICT enabled rural Tanzania

Growing up in Tanzania was a mixture of fun and pains. I was born in a small village called Mowo. The village like
all others in Kilimanjaro , Tanzania was deprived of basic infrastructure. Water was clean if it was from a well-left open. The roads were untarred. . Roofs were mostly mad from grasses, which had to be replaced every year.

Claret Onukogu is a 24 year old woman from Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria who was born as the first child out of six children to Ray and Kathryn Onukogu. Some of the adjectives used to describe her include enthusiastic, spiritual, charismatic, intelligent, humble, ambitious, independent, goal-oriented, friendly, graceful, optimistic, outspoken, hard-working, open-minded, courageous, and multicultural. She spent her early childhood in Nigeria where she completed her nursery, primary and part of her secondary education.

Last week marked the opening of the Gagosian’s first ever retail space located on the ground floor of 988 Madison Avenue. The 2500 square foot space was designed by Daniel Rowen Architects with MN Designs, and was launched with the presentation of Richard Prince’s newest limited edition artist book, Bettie Kline last week.
