STARZ has only just aired the first episode of Black Sails and it is already been getting rave reviews.  The Hollywood Report claims, "Black Sails has a cast of solid actors and is it's little own treasure".  Hakeem Kae-Kazim stars as Mr Scott in this exciting series, which second series has already been commissioned.

Hakeem Kae-Kazim rose to fame in the Oscar Nominated film Hotel Rwanda playing George Rutugunda.  This talented actor has an impressive list of credits and grew a huge fan base when he played the villain Colonel Dubaku in Fox’s series 24.  He went on to play in many of Hollywood’s prime time TV shows and Blockbusters including X-Men: Wolverine and Pirates of the Caribbean.  Now he is to star in STARZ much awaited new series, Michael Bay’s original Black Sails.

In the highly anticipated pirate adventure, Black Sails Hakeem stars as Mr. Scott, a former slave, whose loyalties are put to the test.  This much-awaited series centers on the tales of Captain Flint and his men and takes place twenty years prior to Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic Treasure Island.


The series is set in 1715 and the Golden Age of Piracy in the Caribbean is at its apex. The former British colony of New Providence Island is now lawless territory, controlled by a few dozen of the most notorious pirate captains in history.  Hakeem stars alongside Zach McGowan (Shameless), Jessica Parker Kennedy (The Secret Circle50/50), Mark Ryan (Transformers, The Prestige) and Toby Stephens (Die Another Day).

Hakeem is well loved for his TV work, which recently has included many primetime shows including Human TargetCriminal MindsNAVY NCISLaw and OrderCobert Affairs and Strike Back.  This Nigerian born actors list of impressive credits include Pirates of the Caribbean IIILostCane with Jimmy Smits, Law & Order: SVU with Mariska Hargitay, The Triangle with Sam Neill, The Librarian with Gabrielle Anwar, X-Men: Wolverine with Hugh Jackman, The 4th Kind alongside Milla Jovovich and Darfur with Billy Zane. His latest films Half of a Yellow Sun and A Chance of Rain, are set to be released soon and STARZ exciting and much awaited new series Black Sails.
