The number of African foreign-born immigrants in the United States is on a continuous increase. There are an estimated 1.2 millions African-born residents living in the U.S.A.; over 80% increase since 2000.

AFRICA has been on the world radar lately, starting early this year with the inevitable resignation of Egypt’s fourth president Hosni Mubarak, after 18 days of demonstrations by the Egyptian population. This month, our eyes have all been captured by the ongoing turmoil in Lybia, where the president Muammar Gaddafi has defied his own people in the fight for the throne.
