African Cup of Nation 2017 – Quarter Finals this Weekend

If you’re a fan of African Football, you’re in for a treat. The 2017 African Cup of Nation Quarterfinals are set to take place over this weekend, promising some interesting actions between the qualified teams. The 31st edition of the Africa Cup of Nations quarter finals will be played without the host country Gabon, as they were eliminated in the group stage after failing to win any of their three games.

African Player of the Year Award

The Confederation of African football (CAF) at the weekend revealed the last three nominees for the 2010 Glo/CAF 201 Player of the Year Award.

Those nominated are three times winner, Cameroonian, Samuel Eto’o Fills, two times winner, Didier Drogba of Cote d’Ivoire and new entrant, Asamoah Gyang of Ghana. The African Footballer of the Year award, presented to the best African football (soccer) player each year, has been conferred by the Confederation of African Football(CAF) since 1992.
