Election 2016 – Clinton vs. Trump

On November 8th 2016, Americans will be voting for their 45th president, in which the top candidates are Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. Barack Obama made history on January 20, 2009 when he became the first Black President of the United States of America (POTUS). On January 20, 2017, we could be part of another great history in American politics if Hillary Clinton wins the race, by becoming the first woman to hold the American presidency position.

20161108_112348This election race has been nothing traditional, with the two top candidates full of flaws and enough reason to earn this election the title of the ugliest and dirtiest of the decade for Americans.

Hillary Clinton, former first lady during the presidency of her husband Bill Clinton (1993 to 2001), and former secretary of State under the current president Barack Obama (2009 to 2013) is the most favorite candidate to clinch the POTUS title compared to her adversary Donald J. Trump, the celebrity, entertainer, and businessman who has really defied the American Political views.

Donald Trump, representing the Republican Party, is seeking the POTUS title  in an unpolitical manner that has shaken the core of American politics. Trump's campaign has received unprecedented media coverage and international attention. Many of his statements in interviews, on Twitter, and at campaign rallies have been controversial or false. Several rallies during the primaries were accompanied by protests or riots. Yet, he stands today in the ballot as a potential future president.

Whether you like it or not, there will be drama, there will be lawsuits, and there will be more controversies to follow in the next several days, until January 20, 2017, when the new elected president swears in. This is the most unpredictable presidential race in the United States. I hope all Americans who can vote gets to exercise their rights; I certainly did, because this is an election with historical proportion. So, stay tuned for the results tonight.
