Samuel Eto’o named 2010 African Player of the Year
It was with no doubt when the result was announced: Samuel Eto’o has been named African Footballer of the Year, making it a record four time at the annual CA awards ceremony held in Cairo last Monday. The Cameroonian scored a clinical, close-range second goal in a 3-0 triumph over TP Mazembe from Democratic Republic of Congo, the first African club to reach the final of the 10-year competition.
Inter Milan beat TP Mazembe 3-0
The Inter Milan team has won the Club World Cup Championship by beating the African team TP Mazembe 3-0, sending the trophy once again to the Europeans. The African champions TP Mazembe let two quick goals on the first half from the European champions Inter Milan in a Club World Cup final layered with extra meaning in Abu Dhabi.

TP Mazembe have become the first African side to reach the Club World Cup final after a surprise 2-0 win over Brazil’s Internacional in Abu Dhabi.
African Player of the Year Award
The Confederation of African football (CAF) at the weekend revealed the last three nominees for the 2010 Glo/CAF 201 Player of the Year Award.
Those nominated are three times winner, Cameroonian, Samuel Eto’o Fills, two times winner, Didier Drogba of Cote d’Ivoire and new entrant, Asamoah Gyang of Ghana. The African Footballer of the Year award, presented to the best African football (soccer) player each year, has been conferred by the Confederation of African Football(CAF) since 1992.

Happy Birthday to Fally Ipupa
Born on December 14, 1977 in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo in a large family; Fally is rocked by music from an early age. Having a Catholic education, he began singing in the choir of the Church. As an adolescent, the young Congolese filled with dreams escapes through the musical universe despite the reservations of his parents who prefer to see him on the benches of the school.
South Africa Launches New Space Agency (SANSA)
JOHANNESBURG – South Africa unveiled its national space agency on Thursday, aiming to become a leader in earth observation technology across the continent in 10 years, the minister of science and technology said.
The agency, called SANSA (South African National Space Agency) which already has two micro-satellites, will produce timely data imagery to help detect natural disasters and monitor water resources around South Africa and the continent, Pandor said at the launch.
The new agency, which aims to bring together previously un-allied experts in the field, will also seek to revive several space facilities that were mothballed in the 1990?s during apartheid rule, said a government official.
TP Mazembe claim African Champions League crown again
TP Mazembe have claimed the African Champions League title for the fourth time. The Congolese side drew 1-1 with Tunisia’s Esperance in the second leg of the final but their 5-0 victory in the first match secured them the win.
