Sunday Notes – How Does God view Work?

According to research, 80% of people are dissatisfied with their jobs. It is also known that the average person spends about 90,000 hours at work over their lifetime. That's a lot of hours to be unhappy. So, what does the Bible say about Work? The following are some highlights from God's view on work.

How Does God View Work?

1. God Designed Us to Work

Genesis 2:15 - The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.

Colossians 3:23 - Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters

2. God designed our work to be Beneficial, meaningful, and fulfilling.

Ephesians 4:28 - Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need.

3. God designed us with skills and passions that He wants to use for His glory.

Ephesians 2:10 - For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
