The 2014 Winter Olympics, officially called the XXII Olympic Winter Games, or the 22nd Winter Olympics, is underway in Sochi, Russia. it will be running until the 23 February 2014. The event (including the 2014 Winter Paralympics) is being organized by the Sochi Organizing Committee (SOC). Sochi was selected as the host city in July 2007. The Sochi Olympics will be the first Olympics in the Russian Federation since the breakup of the USSR in 1991.

- Morocco - Morocco has two athletes in qualification position, with the possibility of a third athlete. Adam Lamhamedi (18 year old male, born in Montreal, Canada)) who qualified to compete, is the winner of the first ever super-G competition at the Winter Youth Olympics, and became the first athlete from Africa to win a Winter related Olympic medal. 18 year old female Kenza Tazi (born in Boston, United States) will be competing at the Alpine skiing event.
- Togo - Togo's team will consist of two athletes in two different sports. This is the country's debut at the Winter Olympics. Alessia Afi Dipol ( 18 year old Female, born in Pieve Di Cadore, Italy) will be competing on the Alpine Skiing event, while her counterpart country woman Mathilde Amivi Petit Jean (19 year old, female) will be competing on the Cross-Country event.
- Zimbabwe - Zimbabwe is also marking its first debut into the Winter Olympics with a single athlete, Luke Steyn (19 year old, male, born in Harare, Zimbabwe), competing in alpine skiing.
